This year, 2014, will be the 19th year of the Festival and it runs March 7 through 29. It takes place in Contra Costa County.
The line up looks exciting. Some of the films are:
Hunting Elephants (Israel, 2013, 107 minutes) with Patrick Stewart and Yael Abecassis.
The Real Inglorious Bastards (Canada, 1012, 57 minutes)
Cupcakes (Israel, 2013, 90 minutes)
The Zigzag Kid (Netherlands/Belgium, 2012, 95 minutes)
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Go to their website to read about all the films.
There are three venues in Contra Costa County:
CENTURY 16 THEATRES
125 Crescent Dr., Pleasant Hill
ORINDA THEATRE
4 Orinda Square, Orinda
VINE CINEMA & ALEHOUSE
1722 First Street, Livermore
Tickets range from $8 to $11 with a few of the shorts costing only $3. You can get a Season Pass for $180 that gets you every single film! If I counted correctly there are 46 films.
Films are such a great way to learn about the many Jewish cultures. Try to catch a few.
