Second Night Community Seders 2012

Here are some of the SECOND night community seders in the SF Bay area. Check your local synagogue if you don’t see it listed below.

Temple Beth Hillel’s Annual Community Seder
The family friendly Seder will be held at the synagogue on Saturday, April 7th at 5:30 pm. Join us in telling of the story, eating ritual foods, drinking wine/grape juice and singing the Passover melodies led by Cantor Howard Cohen and Rabbi Dean Kertesz. A delicious feast, with vegetarian option upon request, is included.

Tickets are $30 each for nonmember adults, $18 for children ages 7-12 and $ 8 for children 3 -6. Participants are asked to bring a kosher for Passover dessert to share. Seating is limited so reserve early. For more information, call 510-223-2560.

Second Night Pesach Seder
Join Rabbis Yoel Kahn and Reuben Zellman along with Beth El friends, old and new, for a festive Pesach celebration and delicious, catered, kosher-for-Pesach meal. We are never too old or young to learn and retell the story of liberation. Through song, ritual and discussion, we will retell the Pesach story, making connections to our lives and our world.

Time: 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Place: Beth El, 1301 Oxford St., Berkeley
Members: Adults $54 – Young Adult (30 and under) $36 – Children $18
Guests: Adults $72 – Young Adult (30 and under) $36 – Children $25 – College students w/ID $18
Through the generosity of anonymous Beth El members, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Childcare is provided for children 5 and under.

Second Night Community Seder
Please join us for our Second Night Community Seder on Saturday, April 7, at 5:45 p.m. This is always an inspiring evening, appropriate for all ages and levels of Judaic knowledge. You can sign up on our website. Please make your reservations by Monday, April 2.

Second night Passover Seder
Our traditional second-night seder will be led by Rabbi Allen B. Bennett. It will include matzo ball soup, gefilte fish, salad, roasted potatoes, vegetables, and a main course as well as chopped liver and dessert. A vegetarian entree is available by advance request only.
Bring your own seder plate and wine. The temple will provide all the other ritual items (including bitter herbs, matzoh, charoset, roasted egg, parsley, etc.)

Time: 6pm
Place: Temple Israel, 3183 Mecartney Rd., Alameda
Cost: $40/person. Children ages 5-12 are $10 and children under 5 yrs are free.

Temple Sinai’s Annual Passover Seder
Join Rabbi Andrew Straus and Cantor Ilene Keys as we retell the story of Passover, enjoy delicious foods catered by Z Cafe, meet new friends, and sing! This year’s seder will take place in Stern Hall. Seats are limited and no reservations will be taken after Friday, March 30 at noon.

Time: 6:00pm, Doors open at 5:30pm
Place: Temple Sinai will hold their seder across the street from the synagogue at Z Café. Temple Sinai is located at 2808 Summit St., Oakland.
Cost: Non-member adult or child 13 and older $50, non-member child 4-12 $25; 3 and under is free.
Member adult or child 13 and older $40; member child 4-12 $20; 3 and under is free.
Reservation must be made by noon on Friday, March 30.
