Jewish Grandparents Lab: Creating Joy and Navigating the Obstacles

Transmitting a love of Jewish heritage, ritual and tradition to our grandchildren brings so much joy and at the same time can be challenging. Many of our kids are partnered with non-Jews and many of our sons and daughters are conflicted about religion. If you struggle with the December dilemma (Hanukkah and Christmas); if you want to impart Jewish ideas but are not sure how much is too much; if you could use a few tips on activities that hit just the right note, this workshop is for you.

Dawn Kepler, founding director of Building Jewish Bridges, has worked in interfaith outreach since 1990 and has run workshops for grandparents in a range of Jewish agencies. Utilizing a variety of techniques, Dawn will lead us in an exploration of our own feelings, the roadblocks we have or might encounter, and how to honor our children while contributing more fully, in love, to the development of our grandchildren.
