Chocolate Covered Bugs for Passover!?

My oh, so creative friend Shifra, came up with these delicious and kosher ‘bugs’ for your Passover table. The kids will love making them and everyone will love eating them! Here’s how to do it:

Take Kosher for Passover marshmallows and use a well-cleaned scissors to snip slices about 1/8″ wide. Snip each slice in half and trim till you make it an oval. Eat whatever is left over. Put them on waxed paper far apart. Now, take Kosher for Passover chocolate chips, maybe half a bag. Melt gently — I used a double boiler made by putting a metal bowl over a pot of boiling water — just be careful not to get any moisture in the chocolate so it doesn’t seize. Temper the melted chocolate off the heat (add more chips about 1/3 the volume of the melted choc, stir lots). When about the temperature of your bottom lip (must eat some), take two spoons and dab/mush chocolate over the top of each marshmallow oval. Then pour the rest of the melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag and snip one corner, just a wee hole the diameter of your planned legs. Pipe 6 legs onto each bug by piping and then pulling away quickly; pipe even shorter antennae by pulling away more quickly. Let dry and voila! Happy infestation!
